Besides having issues with sending and receiving documents during Covid (he struggled with e-documents) and not knowing much about clearance certificates with the sale of a home, we lost a considerable amount of our money in the wrong trust account. We assumed we would have gained some interest after our money was held 17 months in a trust account but were referred to the Law Society Act of Ontario where it stated it was in a mixed trust account the interest goes to the Law Foundation of Ontario. What's interesting, is just below that, it states that it can be discussed beforehand if it's a substantial amount of money over a longer period of time, then it can go in a trust account where the interest goes back to the client. So, in short, we lost thousands due to his 'oversight'.
